Our Doctors

Daniel Haws, DDS

Daniel Haws, DDS

Dr. Haws has a BS degree in Science from BYU and received his Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of the Pacific where he received the Salutatorian award for graduating second in his class. Dr. Haws then went on to serve in the U.S. Navy where he completed one year “Advanced Education in General Dentistry” residency providing specialized training in endodontics, periodontics, oral surgery, and implant placement. While in the service Dr. Haws was deployed to southern Afghanistan where he was able to care for emergent needs of both U.S. and NATO troops involved in combat. Upon completion of his time in the military, Dr. Haws was awarded the Navy Commendation Medal for his contribution to the oral health of service members.

Dr. Haws loves dentistry and treating every patient that comes through the door regardless of the amount of care that they have been able to receive. He loves working with every member of the family and especially enjoys the opportunity to care for those who might find the dentistry experience difficult or challenging. His fun and caring personality have a way of making the dental experience easy for even the most nervous patients. In his time away from caring for patients, Dr. Haws enjoys spending time with his wife and two daughters. He loves coaching local youth soccer and competing in cycling events. In fact, if you see a cyclist out around our Kuna roads it’s likely him so give him a wave as you pass by.

Douglas Croft, DDS

Douglas Croft, DDS

Dr. Croft is an Idaho native and received his undergraduate degree from Idaho State University and then went on to receive his Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the University of Oklahoma Health Science Center. He is currently a member of the Southwest Dental Association, Idaho State Dental Association and American Dental Association.

Dr. Croft came to Kuna in June 2003 and purchased Kuna Dental from a retiring dentist. Dr. Croft is very involved in the community where he coaches sports and is involved in local agriculture clubs. Along with his community involvement Dr. Croft is very proud of his time served in the U.S. Army Reserves where he received many awards and distinctions. In his free time, Dr. Croft loves to be in the mountains with his family.

Dr. Croft loves being a dentist and serving his patients with the most up to date technology. He places the foundation of Kuna Dental on his mission statement, “Kuna Dental where warm and friendly meet value and expertise.” Dr. Croft and his staff look forward to meeting you soon..

James Stirland, DDS

James Stirland, DDS

Dr. James Stirland discovered his love for dentistry while attending Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah, where he graduated with a BS in Neuroscience. He then received his DMD at Western University of Health Sciences in Pomona, California in 2014. After graduation from school, Dr. Stirland completed a 2-year residency in General Dentistry at Fort Hood, Texas with the U.S. Army. In 2017, he was assigned to the Last Frontier of Alaska where he expanded his scope of dentistry. Dr. Stirland ran the Army’s dental clinic at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson where he was able to manage care for over 4,000 soldiers and mentor multiple general dentists to pursue higher areas of interest.

While on active duty with the U.S. Army, he developed valuable dental skills including placing dental implants to restore missing teeth; periodontal surgeries to restore oral health in diseased tissue or as a necessary prep for other procedures; endodontic procedures; extensive surgical cases such as wisdom teeth removal, biopsies, and trauma; orthodontics; pedodontics; and overall comprehensive care of each patient.

Dr. Stirland loves being able to help people reach their fullest potential in oral health through teaching. His favorite part of dentistry is the role he plays in helping boost his patient’s confidence by helping them turn their lives from painful insecurity to a healthy, confident smile. His patients recognize his calm and kind nature, and feel comfortable and at ease in his care.

Accessibility On Our Website

We are committed to continuously improving access to our goods and services by individuals with disabilities.
If you are unable to use any aspect of this website because of a disability, please call and we will provide you with prompt personalized assistance.

If you have trouble seeing web pages, the US Social Security Administration offers these tips for optimizing your computer and browser to improve your online experience.

If you are looking for mouse and keyboard alternatives, speech recognition software such as Dragon Naturally Speaking may help you navigate web pages and online services. This software allows the user to move focus around a web page or application screen through voice controls.

If you are deaf or hard of hearing, there are several accessibility features available to you.

Closed Captioning
Closed captioning provides a transcript for the audio track of a video presentation that is synchronized with the video and audio tracks. Captions are generally visually displayed over the video, which benefits people who are deaf and hard of hearing, and anyone who cannot hear the audio due to noisy environments. Most of our website’s video content includes automated captions. Learn how to turn captioning on and off in YouTube.

Volume Controls
Your computer, tablet, or mobile device has volume control features. Each video and audio service has its own additional volume controls. Try adjusting both your device’s volume controls and your media players’ volume controls to optimize your listening experience.
